Maryland Laser, Skin and Vein Institute was founded by national leaders in cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery. The Institute provides the most innovative and effective treatments in the world for aging or sun-damaged skin, acne, varicose veins, face wrinkles, scars, unwanted body fat or unwanted hair. The Institute is a leader in physician education. Each physician has passed rigorous examinations to become board certified in dermatology. Each physician actively engages in national and international medical societies.Dr. Weiss is the President Elect of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Drs. Margaret and Robert Weiss began practicing dermatology in 1982. Partner Karen Beasley, M.D. joined the practice in 2000. Our practice also includes a team of licensed nurse practitioners and physician assistants to assist in providing the highest quality care. We specialize in anti-aging cosmetic procedures including BOTOX® Cosmetic, Thermage, Liposuction, laser resurfacing, skin tightening, microdermabrasion, and filler injection. More than thirty lasers and light-based devices are used at the Institute, comprising one of the largest collections of such devices in the world. Drs. Our practice has only board-certified dermatologists as its physicians. Our specialty training was in dermatology. Our continuing medical education is in dermatology and dermatologic surgery. We are dedicated to providing our patients with the highest standards of dermatologic care.
About the Doctor
Dr. Margaret A. Weiss is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she attended medical school and completed her dermatology residency. Prior to that, she attended Princeton University. Board-certified, she is a member of the leading society in the field of venous diseases, the American College of Phlebology, and is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Her teaching and publications in the field of sclerotherapy of leg veins have led to numerous interviews and TV appearances, including "Good Morning, America" and "Health Week" on PBS. Dr. Weiss' other interests include laser surgery , and cosmetic dermatology such as BotoxCosmetic®, and filler injections. She has served as President of the Maryland Dermatologic Society. She coauthored her textbook, "Vein Diagnosis & Treatment: A Comprehensive Approach," published by McGraw-Hill in 2001, with Drs. Robert Weiss and Craig Feied.
