Tumescent Liposuction Tumescent Liposuction is a painless form of Liposuction performed with local anesthesia. While tumescent liposuction gives the same benefit as traditional liposuction, it is performed in the office. It does not require the use of a hospital or outpatient surgery facility, nor does it require the use of general anesthesia. The tumescent method allows the surgeon to safely and efficiently remove excess fat with little discomfort, no significant blood loss, very rapid healing and improved cosmetic results. Tumescent Liposuction removed small areas of excess fat from those stubborn, hard-to-lose areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, hips, inner thighs, upper back, upper arms, neck and jowls. By using small instruments, there is less risk of defects such as lumpiness or grooving associated with the more traditional technique. Patients often return to work the next day following this procedure.
