Laser Assisted Lipolysis (LAL)Laser Assisted Lipolysis (LAL) is a comfortable, minimally invasive and controlled way to remove fat. LAL requires the use of tumescent fluid and uses a microcannula inserted through a small incision to deliver laser energy and heat into subcutanteous fat. The heat melts unwanted fat and coagulates tissue, resulting in a tighter, slimmer body. It can be done in a physician's office and does not require general anesthesia. Popular treatment areas are the chin, abdomen, love handles, saddle bags, inner and outer thighs, bra roll, back, knees and ankles. The ideal candidate for LAL is resonably fit, with localized pockets of fat and/or loose skin. LAL can also be used for tightening in conjunction with traditional liposuction in order to assure superior outcomes that cannot be achieved with traditional liposuction alone. Typically only one treatment is required. Results are ususally visible very soon after treatment and will continue to improve over several months. Your physician may suggest wearing a compression garment for a brief period. Patients return home the same day and can resume normal activities within a few days. |
