Drive-Thru Liposuction

Drive-Thru Liposuction

One of the downsides of liposuction surgery is the potential down time. Traditional liposuction procedures are very effective at removing excess fat from the body, but it can also cause some bruising and swelling. In addition, the anesthetics that are typically used before the surgery often require a hospital stay. In our ever more fast-paced world, people want a liposuction option that will be them back on their feet as soon as possible. This explains the rising popularity of so-called “drive thru plastic surgery”.

Channel 33 in Dallas, TX recently reported on a woman named Joanna Laufer who had 4-6 inches taken from her thighs and was back on the street in just over an hour. While there still will be some after-effects, such as bruising, she’ll be fully recovered in time to use her new body at the beach this summer. This is just one of the appeals of drive thru liposuction.

And patients are increasingly attracted to those benefits. According to the website Live Science, most of the 69 percent increase in cosmetic surgery over the past 10 years is attributable to these quick recovery drive-thru procedures. In addition to liposuction, these minimally-invasion cosmetic surgery procedures include such popular treatments as Botox and face peels. Significantly facelifts, which require much longer recovery periods, are way down in popularity.

Of course the key factor in getting a satisfactory experience with any liposuction procedure, especially “drive thru” liposuction, is using a qualified, board-certified physician. Joanna Laufer did, and now she’ll spend the rest of the summer enjoying her new body rather than spending it in the hospital recovering.
